How Can I reverse Kidney and/or Diabetes?
I did some google searches and all the articles I pulled up from WebMD to Healthline, etc…..says its impossible to reverse kidney disease. I believe any disease if caught soon enough can be changed or at least stopped in mid air with a change in what we put in our mouth.
So how do I keep my kidneys in this stage? Is there no hope for these patients except to be broken for the rest of their natural life? The SAD diet has seen to it that we are physically broken and dependant upon the systems of this world. Who says?
Diabetes is a devastating disease and comes with it many different ailments. Some of these are heart attacks, kidney disease, spine problems and nephropathy, which is nerve damage. Taking a peek into the future can be devastatingly depressing Health is everything…..well almost. I used to think it was until I lost mine and realized there is actually more amazing things that God has for us even in a debilitating disease. However, He does desire to heal us and bring us to a place of brokenness and a contrite heart, which Psalms says, “He does not despise” So humility, i.e. brokenness, is important to be able to accept things that are new and unfamiliar to the psyche which can cause some undue fear and stress. “Id rather not change things and leave them as they are.” OH? And where will that take you? Do you think you will get well?
The old adage “To keep doing the same things expecting different results is insanity. Do we really want change, a healthier existance, or can we be satisfied with aching knees, back pain, nephropathy….the list is endless.
So wow! So much to consider with healing of the body. What do kidneys do. They filter the toxins and wastes from the blood and flush them out of the body.
Let’s consider the symptoms of kidney kidney disease:
SYMPTOMS AND POSSIBLE SIGNS OF KIDNEY DISEASE and/or DIABETES
- Have less energy
- Trouble concentrating
- Trouble sleeping
- Dry and itchy skin
- Urinate more often
- Blood in your urine
- Swelling of feet and ankles
- Decreased appetite
- Muscle cramps
- Vomiting or nausea
- Anemia
- dizziness
Unfortunately, kidney disease symptoms are non-specific, as there are any number of illnesses causing this type of dysfunction. How can I know my kidneys are ill? Why take a chance? If you have 3-5 symptoms out of 10 maybe it’s time to do something….. So, How Do I Heal My Kidneys?
Diabetes is a serious condition in which an insulin-deprived body seeks energy from stored fat. ketones are caused by the breakdown of fat when there isn’t enough insulin to allow the glucose (sugar) into your cells for energy. When ketones build up, the result too much acid in the blood. If not treated, this can lead to death. Some of the symptoms
- Blood glucose levels above 240 mg/dL
- Flu-like symptoms (feeling tired, weak, aches, nausea or vomiting, abdominal pain)
- Frequent urination
- Excessive thirst
- Weight loss (if for a longer period of time)
- Drowsiness, lethargy, exhaustion
- Confusion
- Difficulty concentrating
- Fruity smelling breath
- Rapid breathing, which happens when the body is trying to eliminate the ketones and acid
- ketones detected via urine or blood testing
Diet! Diet? Yes diet.
Oh, brother! You exclaim. I have to stop eating my favorite yogurt? My soda? My Twinkies? My Hershey’s kisses? Sorry! Yes you do. Are you willing to look in the mirror and be painfully honest with yourself?
In “The Road Less Traveled” by Dr Peck, I quote:
“They feel impotent because they have, in fact, given their power away. Sooner or later , if they are to be healed, they must learn that the entirety of one’s adult life is a series of personal choices, decisions. If they can accept this totally, then they can become free.”
“To the extent they do not accept this (calling) they will forever feel themselves victims.”
Victims of what? The system? No! Of your fear of taking charge of your own life and making educated decisions. But if you do not, you eventually become a victim of the system. You feel helpless. In times past, our ancestors had to take FULL responsibility for themselves. If there was no meat to eat, they had to kill it, if there was no water, they had to go find it and maybe dig a well. What are you waiting for? Are you different from our ancestors? We have been made victims of the SAD diet and from fears and refusing to take charge and stay abreast of the state of our health. If we are sluggish, find out why. There are countless articles on the Internet now as to why our bodies do not respond as they should. So we have no excuse, except to embrace our ignorance as bliss. We would rather be entertainmented than search for truth. Hollywood has duped us……and it has cost us our freedom…..and our health.
As the old adage says, “garbage in garbage out.” This used to be true, what we ate has been, in the past what we become. Since we live in a world of overwhelming toxicity, we have to clean out the system in order to absorb the good stuff.
Hippocrates Quote: “Let food be your medicine and your medicine your food.”
So you complain you have to eat healthy? What is healthy?
Let’s see?
Broccoli, cauliflower, kale, brussel sprouts, arugula, kohlrabi, watercress, parsley, cilantro, red and green cabbage.
Notice these all have one thing in common? They are cruciferous vegetables
Let’s take a trip to the garden.
Isn’t this simply gorgeous?
Imagine how your body will thank you?
Cruciferous veggies are a colorful and healthy group of veggies that include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, bok choy, arugula, Brussels sprouts, collards, watercress and radishes.
Interesting Fact: “Cruciferous” is a classification for members of the mustard family and comes from a Latin word meaning “cross bearing.” The four petals resemble a cross. I find it interesting, since I happen to believe in divine order, that the one vegetable on the earth that can literally wipe out most diseases has a Latin name meaning “cross bearing.” Just as Christ bore our sins on THE cross of Calvary, in divine order these veggies are not excluded from bringing us health, just as Christ promised. “I will take all the sickness out from among you.” James also speaks of “Beloved I desire above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” Is your soul prospering?
Daniel the prophet was taken into Nebuchadnezzar’s palace and given the finest of the king’s delicacies. Daniel, being a man of simplicity and frugality, desiring to please his heavenly Father rather than partake of something desirous the flesh, asked to be excused from the king’s diet. He made a deal with the king’s eunuch.
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the
king’s meat, nor with the wine that he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch
that he might not defile himself. 9 Now God had brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.”
Chapter 1 refers to a 10-day test wherein Daniel and others with him were allowed to eat only vegetables and water to avoid the Babylonian king’s food and wine. After remaining healthy at the end of the 10-day period, they continued the vegetable diet for the three years of their education.
I can personally testify that in eating mostly cruciferous veggies at 68 has paid off. I can play tennis, run 5 miles, ride my bike 4 miles to the grocery store, take a break and ride back. Exhilarating? Oh my! The benes are amazing.! No more mucus in my lungs, since I cut out dairy, my joints work better my attitude is upbeat and head is clear. Wonderful day in the sun, sweating and having fun with the wind blowing in my face taking in all that Vitamin D3. Wouldn’t you like to live life with “longevity” ( meaning length of days in a healthy state till you are called “home.?) instead of destroying your kidneys with sugar, High Fructose Corn syrup, canned veggies (which have no life in them) dead Ultra-pasturized milk, pancakes, waffles, crackers, breads, sandwiches, lunch meat, fake cheese, etc. which can be caused by all the things I mentioned earlier?
I’m certainly not trying to make a case for abstaining from animal protein, but in reality, in order to change the structure of the telomeres which can either lengthen or shorten the life span of a human being, there must be an interruption of intake and output. Fasting is a spiritual and healthy ritual that we as indulgent Americans, because we can have instant food in 5 minutes, whether at the press of a button on a microwave or a ten-minute trip to McDonald’s, have forgotten to embrace.
While these veggies grow in all different colors, shapes and sizes, they share several nutritional benefits. Most cruciferous veggies are rich in vitamins and minerals such as folate and vitamin K. Dark green cruciferous veggies also are an excellent source of vitamins A and C. They’re also rich in phytonutrients. There are plant-based compounds that may help to lower inflammation and reduce the risk of developing cancer. Cruciferous vegetables also are rich in fiber and low in calories. This is a combination that will helps you feel full and satisfied with only a few cups of food on your plate. It takes very little to reap the benefits of not only feeling full, but very satisfied. Its because of the high protien levels (which keep in mind Kale is 2nd highest in proteins, second only to peas. Adults need at least 2½ cups of vegetables a day. One cup of raw and cooked veggies, such as broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, is equivalent to a 1-cup vegetable serving. Two cups of raw leafy vegetables, such as kale and bok choy, are the equivalent of a 1-cup vegetable serving.
Ready to add more cruciferous veggies into your diet? These tips will maintain your health and bring in more vitamins and minerals easy and enjoyable.
As a quick testimony, I have been consuming a smoothie every morning for 10 plus years of kale, spinach, rec and green chard, arugula and dried powered greens with watercress, parsley and cilantro, turmeric and ginger. I have no pain and am on no medication for any pain. The only stiffness I have right now is from sitting down on this computer and leaning too far forward. LOL! But getting this info out to you is so worth it! You are amazing and you deserve to be well and competing in that triathlon, or playing on the floor with your grandbabies, riding piggyback, or playing basketball with your teenage grandson’s peers. Life was meant to be lived….not exist.
Cauliflower This veggie is so versatile whether steaming or roasting the florets like steaks, releasing a pleasant flavor. Then in a puree, it can be used like a cream sauce. It is wonderful put in a blender till just broken and sauteed using like rice (grating is also easy if you don’t have a blender). Even can be used as pizza crust. Yes I know this is a huge amount of work. But aren’t you worth it? You are amazing! Pickling, as in days of old when the crock was sitting outside on the front porch in a salt brine all through the year, continually renewing itself. Mom would scrape off the top as the drought rose to the surface, only to reveal, fresh crispy veggies all year round. You had the added benefit of the digestive enzyme to boot, Vinegar!
Brussels Sprouts Brussels sprouts practically beg to be in the oven. For a melt-in-your-mouth side, roast and toss with something sweet, such as dried fruit or maple syrup, as well as something savory — anything from Parmesan cheese to sliced olives. ( I personally like to saute mine with bacon and onion. Nothin’ better. Although, I do buy the healthiest bacon on the market that I can find with no nitrites or sugar and un
Kale: The almighty kale is a wonderful green for salads. Why is it “almighty” Highest on the “richter” scale. Just kidding, 2nd only to Pea protein. Great for healing kidney disease. Remove the tough stem, slice into thin ribbons and toss with toppings, dressing and all. Best of all, this hearty green will not wilt for days, making it a great option for packing ahead. I buy it packaged and already cut up and just toss the bag into the freezer, ready to take out, add onionsTo balance the bitter bite, pair it with something sweet such as roasted carrots, diced apple or dried fruit. Taking the kale leaves I strip off the
Arugula Arugula is one of the easiest greens to grow in your garden or in a planter. I love this spicy green lettuce-like green In ground up in a pesto with added basil and garlic. I place in ice cube trays for a bit of joy spread on my sprouted spelt grain Irish soda bread made with Kefir. (Hoeever, there could be issues if you are allergic to dairy, like me) There are many ways to enjoy this green, ife it’s just in a tossed salad.
The third rule of discipline is dealing with the pain of problem solving, which is something that must continually be employed if our lives are to be healthy and our spirits grow is dedication to the truth. Pilot asked Jesus, “what is truth? Superficially, this should be obvious. For truth is reality. That which is false is not real. The more clearly we see the reality of the world,” (as it is, not as we hope or wish it was,) (added) “the better equipped we are to deal with the world. The less clearly we see the reality of this world, —the more our minds are befuddled by falsehood, imperceptions and illusions—the less able we will be to determine correct courses of action and make wise decisions. Our view of reality is like a map with which to negotiate the terrain of life. If the map is true and accurate, we will generally know where we are, and if we have decided where we want to go we will generally know how to get there. If your map is faulty you will generally be lost.”
So what is your decision?
Deut 30 says: “Choose life that you may live”
God said to Cain, when he was angry with his brother Able, “Sin is crouching at your door, but you must master it.”
What does all this scripture have to do with saving my kidneys or lowering my blood sugar? It’s your life, and your responsibility. If you choose to die an untimely death it was because you did not view your life responsibly. You may still die and untimely death, because our appointed time has come. However, it is up to us to all we can in our power to do good not evil. What is evil? “to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin, or simply, missing the mark. We are called to be salt and light. Are you missing your calling and becoming a rock in a hard place letting life pass you by because you are afraid to take charge and try things that are “scary or different?” I had never eaten brussel sprouts. Every time I ate them, I said to myself, I have to figure out a different way to cook them, always with bacon and onion, but it was never “right.” Then recently, I figured out how to add lime and thyme, oregano and jalapeno pepper and amazingly, I like them.
What will you choose? Life or death? It’s your choice.
All this because you are suggesting I change my diet? Of course! I worked with a man that was the epitome of health. He told me he was ready to die, had a bad heart and doc said he could have another heart attack any day. He immediately went to work, eating only veggies and exercising daily, cutting out anything that cause inflammation or might clog arteries. He at the time I met him, was running, exercising 3 times a week and working 12 hour days standing on concrete floors all day long. Now that’s determination and a willingness to take the bull by the horns. What’s your excuse?
Fight my friend fight for your voice and your health and freedom, not only for yourself, but for your children and your grandchildren. They need you to take responsibility and not hide behind your fears. How can I say this? Because I’ve learned my lessons the hard way.
Jesus said, “I have come that ye might have life and have it more abundantly.” Embrace abundance. Yes it is hard work, but with a mind set on the goal and the prize, humans have no idea what they are capable of. Fight not as one beating the air, but fight for what you know and can see and believe in. TRUTH! Find your voice instead of letting the pharmaceutical companies tell you what is good for you. You already know that the pills the Doc gives you do not work. Do your own research. Finding the answers and making a difference in your life, as well as your posterity pays big dividends.
