How to Love as Christ loved the Church; Making Space for Entertaining Angels Unaware.

Let brotherly love continue. [2] Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. [3] Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. [4] Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
[5] Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
[6] So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
[7] Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.[8] Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.’ Hebrews 13

This is a powerful chapter full of commands.

  1. Let; Remember; Be content; We can boldly say “the Lord is my helper, what can man do to me?

There are habits and disciplines we must acquire in our walk in order to make these things happen. We have sleeping habits, we have eating habits, we have exercise habits, we have talking on the phone habits, we have buying habits, we have hording habits, we have fear habits, we have all kinds of habits that cause us to keep company with those that might not be the best people to bring us encouragement or challenge us in the Lord.  However, if we are keeping our own habits before the Lord.

Lets see what he calls us to do first off and find out if indeed these minute habits might be significant to help make space for entertaining angels unaware.

  1. Gather the manna in the morning. If you go out and look for it in the afternoon, it won’t be there.  Interesting how that is….we are more available mentally, emotionally and spiritually than any other time when we first awake than any other time.  Let us come boldly before the throne of grace that we might find grace to help in our time of need.
