WHAT ARE THE REASONS FOR MY ANXIETY? COULD IT BE PHYSICAL OR EVEN SPIRITUAL INSTEAD OF ALL IN MY HEAD?

COULD YOUR ANXIETY BE TRIGGERED BY SOMETHING IN YOUR BODY, NOT IN YOUR HEAD OR EMOTIONS BUT POSSIBLY SPIRITUAL?

Have you been diagnosed with anxiety or depression?

Do any of the following scenes sound familiar?

  1. Sandra feels constantly tense and nervous and startles at the slightest noise or jups at the slightest change in sound or movement. She winces at bright lights and as the day wears on, she feels progressively worse and exhaustion sets in. She is worrying that she won’t be able to meet his work obligations or family responsibilities. She’s been diagnosed with ganeralized anxiety disorder and put on Xanax.
  2. Sheri has vertigo and experiences a loss of balance and fear while walking up or down the stairs, taking an escalator can even bring stark terror. She has been diagnosed with a phobic disorder and put on Buspar, an anti-anxiety drug.
  3. Roland experiences waves of panic that come on suddenly. His heart races, his pulse thhrobs, the world spins and he can hardly catch is breath. He feels as if he’s dying and losing his mind all that the same time. He has been diagnosesd with panic disorder and put on Paxil, and anti-depressant.
  4. Marissa feels afraid to leave the house. When she does, she suffers panic attack that comes out of nowhere. She can be sitting in churc, shopping at grocery story, standing in line at the bank or driving down the street. She’s been diagnosed with agroaphobia and put on Zoloft an anti-depressant.

This medication helps take the edge off their symptoms, but in no wise helps their issues. Why?  None of these people have mental issues.   It could be from a physical issue instead.

  • Sensory defensiveness (hypersensitivity to ordinary sensation) could be what triggered the anxiety
  • Inner ear dysfunction (which controls balance can trigger the space phobia)
  • Mitral valve prolapse (a cardiac disorder) triggered the panic attacks
  • Type two diabetes triggered Marissa’s panic attacks that kept her bound to her home

Anxiety symptoms are not specific to anxiety disorders. Any anxiety symptoms can indicate a biological problem.

  • Sugar imbalances, heart problems or vitamin deficiencies can produce symptoms which are identical to a panic attack.
  • Head injuries, brain tumors, strep throat and encephalitis can create obsessive-compulsive behavior.
  • Environmental pollutants and allergens can produce panic-like symptoms
  • Sensory anxiety can mimic or result in panic, depression, mania, OCD, ADD and even feeling a depersonalization.  Losing yourself!
  • Inner Ear Dysfunction can create panic attacks and space related phobias such as fear of heights, flying and enclosed spaces and, according to many MD’s and can be the underlying  cause of dyslexia.

Unfortunately many medical doctors and mental practitioners are mostly unaware that something physical, neurological, structural, sensory, or environmental and even spiritual can produce symptoms that mimic anxiety or panic. Without asking more questions and delving further into the symptoms and reasons or possibilities of these symptoms, they put them on a pill and suggest they have a mental or emotional issue and then refer them to psychological treatment.

WHAT CHANGE IS NECESSARY?- LET’S LOOK AT THE WHOLE PICTURE

  1. All drugs create side affects and sometimes very dangerous. Psyco-trophoic drugs
can be addictive and dangerous. It is very difficult to wean yourself from them. Many studies now question the actual effectiveness of anti-depressants.  Some have resorted recently to only using them short-term, which was the very reason they were created in the first place.  Studies have found that amino acids and exercise is proving to have remarkable results.
  2. Changing  the diet from eating grains, dairy and sugar, and legumes, along with consistent exercise are producing phenomenal results.  Look into detoxifying the body from:
heavy metals, cleaning out the colon and digestive tract; detoxing the liver and kidneys and once you have completed these tasks, which will take you around 6 months you will feel so much better, you will want more.  I suggest a set of 4 books by Dr. Yakov Koyfman, N.D. called “Healing through Cleansing”
  3. Intermittent fasting has a wonderful return when it is done right and on a consistent basis.
  4. Cleansing the lungs with a long walk, herbs, and deep breathing works amazing results, releasing the lungs of mucus. Deep breathing as you exert yourself, cause the lungs to expand to be able to hold more fresh air and then expel the stagnant air.  Our lungs can hold stagnant air. This has been proven by smokers who are able to exhale more cigarette smoke 10-15 minutes after they have finished a cigarette. So, it is critical that you take time to detox your lungs.    (A recipe for detoxing your lungs:
  5. Reduce caffeine intake
  6. Do your best to back off cigarettes if you are a smoker. Stress causes you to smoke more.
  7. I suggest the herb ashwagandha and macca root to help balance your endocrine system
  8. 1. Carrots (50%), green juice from kale, romaine lettuces, cucumber, celery or other greens (50%)  2 fresh clove of garlic.  Drink 3-4 cups a day.

Look into the possibility of your own thoughts and how they affect they way you feel after you have considered where the despondency or feeling inept or desiring to be in some other place instead of where you are present at this moment……were their origin lies?  Maybe in someone putting you down in your past? Do you always feel like you are a few bricks short?  Or you feel as if you should have taken the job offer, not moved there, not married the women or man you feel strapped to?    There is no greater place than to be content in whatever state you are in.  So work on where you are at the moment to be salt and light. Decide to embrace what God says about you instead of what your psychiatrist or your medical doctor say.  They don’t really know how to help. Allopathic medicine does not heal, it just shifts the symptoms from one problem to another. Let your body heal by changing your story….changing your thoughts and changing your diet.  It all goes hand in hand.

I find it very interesting that in the feasts when the Israelites were told to eat bitter herbs with their lamb , it is those very bitter herbs that assist in helping us digest meat and proteins.  I started taking bitter herbs liquid before my meals…..simply because it makes sense. I do also notice when I use parsley in my juice in the mornings it seems easier to digest.

.We are called to be full of joy, as HE is our strength.   Christ came that we might have life and live it more abundantly. If we do not rise up, realize that there is an enemy of God’s people, (sometimes we are our own worse enemy) then we will just go with the flow, keep eating sugar or sweets, feeling anxiety and then relying on doctors to issue us drugs….their wonder pills….instead of taking responsibility for our own health and making things happen for us.  Then, we miss the calling God has placed on our lives. Ask Him what it is you are called to do. Be relentless like the lady with the unjust judge …..do not stop asking till you find the answer.  “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened.”

I was recently told “we are our own hero.”  I thought that could be an arrogant statement until I realized that it simply means, if you don’t take care of yourself no one else is going to. It means no one can walk your journey, but you.   I’m the only one that can make my life what it is or IS NOT.  When we refuse to carry our own load, that is where co-dependency can enter the picture….wanting someone else to carry your load.  It is up to us to find our niche and walk in it.  If you are feeling like you are in a pool of quicksand every day with unfounded fears, how can you step up to the plate reaching out to those that are waiting for you.    Heal your body with detoxification and good foods and “choose life that you may live.”

Are you carrying yours or wanting someone else to carry it for you?  It could be why you find yourself depressed, anxious and feeling like you are not moving forward in life.  If you become stagnant……remember take a good look at that dirty water and ask yourself if you would like to swim in that green stagnant pool or body of water.  If there is no life, then chances are there will be no life or enjoyment there for you either.

  1. Meditate on these things: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
  2. Be thankful and bless His name
  3. Rejoice in the Lord, always and again I say rejoice.
  4. Take no thought for tomorrow ( consider the sparrow and the lilies of the field)
  5. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, Who is the help of my countenance, and my God.
  6. Consider who your God really is and what Christ has done for you and who you really are IN CHRIST.  He who seeks the mind of the Lord will have the wisdom, understanding and hope he gives to us.

Be your own hero. MOVE! Stop procrastinating!  Ask yourself why you are procrastinating? Watch your patterns when you have found yourself in a slump. Chances are you received some negative self talk.  Develop small habits during the day that draw you closer to your goals.  Don’t focus on your goals, but develop systems to focus on,  bringing you closer to your goals.   We don’t live our lives in Christ by making “goals.” We live our lives one day at a time.  “Take no thought for tomorrow for tomorrow has enough evil of it’s own.”  Yet we are to look for His return.  So what man or manner of person ought we to be when we know he is returning? “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Ask God to show you how much He loves you, come to the word with a prayerful attitude to realize unless He reveals the words on the pages, that’s all they are; words on a page.  Are you shining?
